All Hallows Story Character Sheet: The Character sheet for the All Hallows story is below, along with the various pieces of AI art. The major warning is that while descriptions are basically intact, the biggest caveat is that we want to avoid spoilers and giving away plot points. Story Characters and Their Mid-Journey Counterparts: These characters from my All Hallows story character sheet were tweaked from the internal notes, removing story detail and adding a little bit more description of the prompt. Main Character: Alex: Alex is the main character name for this, and several other of my stories. Because this story is written in more of a journal or narrative style, there is not much of a description tagged to this character. druid with a brown robe tied at the waist by a white rope The idea is to allow the reader to slip into the role of 'Alex' so that they can read along like they were rereading their own journal after the fact. Party: Liam: Liam is Alex's friend who is dressed like a druid for Halloween. He issues a strange invitation to his All Hallows fet, but Alex needs a break and RSVPs that he plans to attend. Liam's Prompt: The prompt that I put into Mid-Journey for Liam was: " /imagine a druid with a brown robe tied at the waist by a white rope belt. his hood is back and he is standing at his front door greeting my arrival " succubus with reddish-purple skin short sharp black horns The results were not bad, but also not what I had in mind. The machine does not do a very good job of following directions. This was about the fifth or sixth iteration, and there was a lot that did not make it into the image from the prompt. Lilitha Nyx: Lilitha Nyx is the succubus who seduces Alex, at Liam's party. She has black hair, purplish-red skin with green and yellow eyes, a tail, and 8” black horns. Lilitha's Prompt: The prompt that I put into Mid-Journey for Lilitha was: " /imagine a succubus with reddish-purple skin, short sharp black horns, a long tail, giant bat-style wings, and an attitude problem " This was my favorite succubus prompt. the problem is that while I was working on it there was a series of errors telling me not to make it to violate ToS. That was a little distracting, so I moved on to a different prompt series. Goblins: a beautiful curvy goblin girl with green skin with rose Azura Shadewind: Red (hair): red hair, curvy, intelligent. Goblin queen, gold wizard’s service collar. She introduced herself in the slave tunnel with fine black robes, filled in with struggling to conceal her curves. Azura's Prompt: Azura is an important character. When I threw her prompt into Mid-Journey I was pretty shocked that I liked two of the first four presentations. I put in " /imagine a beautiful curvy goblin girl, with green skin, with rose-red hair smiling happily " I can't figure out what the green stuff coming out of her head is, but I'm just going to pretend that this character is using leaves to decorate her hair! :P Zephyra: a grumpy gray-haired goblin girl aunt with green skin Gray (hair), Auntie: sour, old, grumpy, hates cooking, is the clan cook. Wears burlap tan overalls full of pouches and hidden compartments. She is an elder who has had a long life, full of disappointment and loss. Zephyra's Prompt: I think this was probably the funniest result I got. Zephyra is pictured as a little grumpy, but Mid-Journey went hogwild and made my prompt so much more hilarious. I put in " /imagine a grumpy, gray-haired goblin girl aunt, with green skin, scowling at you because you just spilled the milk on the kitchen floor " Vespera: Purple (hair): Purple (hair): young guard, pretty but young and dumb. Armed with a four-foot spear, a 24” sword blade, and a ten-inch cross guard, plus an off-white gambison and reinforced with well-maintained leather armor over the vitals. Green eyes. Elara: Blue (hair): two cute goblin girls standing back to back one with long spears Blue (hair): young guard, pretty but young and dumb. Vestera & Elara's Prompt: The prompt for these two DID NOT WORK! It seems like Mid Journey really explodes into confusion when there is more than one character requested. I have not settled this issue yet, but I'll keep playing with it. Basically, the skin and all the equipment requests are pretty much ignored. I had to run through about six iterations to get something close, and by then my interest moved on to the wizard's tower. The prompt I used was: " /imagine two cute goblin girls standing back to back, one with long blue hair, the other with long purple hair. Both goblin girls holding spears with polished tips, and wearing white gambisons, with protective leather breastplates. --ar 8:10 " Mid Journey apparently has a problem with spears and armor. I will work on that later when I get back into playing with the program to create new illustrations in other books. Wizard: Isidore Fireforge: simple coloring page low detail black and white vector image tower zoomed out An absent-minded old wizard who employs Azura’s Shadowind clan of four goblin females. Pays them a gold for Azura and a silver each month for each clan member, while allowing them to grow food on his lands for protection. Requires they care for his tower and grow the food, tend the orchards, etc. Isidore's Tower Prompt: This was a lot of trouble. simple coloring page low detail black and white vector image The towers all appeared super small and unimpressive unlike what I was trying to describe. The ultimate solution was that I went into image searches and found a Minecraft tower. This allowed me to do a few things at once. I used prompts to alter the initial Minecraft wizard's tower image, and then after many iterations, I removed the color and turned the whole prompt into a black-and-white sketch. It took a lot of work to get the tower to grow larger. Even so, the tower still looks a little more like a castle than how I envisioned the straight strong obsidian wizards' tower. The prompt itself was " /imagine simple coloring page, low detail, black and white vector illustration, https://s.mj.run/b4hBV0oWr7c , this tower, much larger and higher with dozens of levels, in a beautiful mountain valley, surrounded by high snow-capped mountains, and a great view of the surrounding area, clean fine line art, coloring book page, white background, 2d --no color - " And then the zoom out command fleshed out the farther out. Orcs: Sha-Ra Bloodclaw: a great big female orc and huge strong arms with a six-pack stomach Orc woman, captured by human cavalry after a failed raid on a town, bashed in the head by the horse lord and sold. Massive six feet tall plus, Alex has to look up four to six inches just to look her in the eyes. Arms as big as Alex's legs. Tits each the size of his head. Terrified of Isidore’s name. Bought to protect the old wizard when in and when he leaves his tower. Sha-Ra's Prompt: This was probably the easiest prompt that I assembled. I think the first effort produced these results. The prompt I used was only: " /imagine a great big female orc, and huge strong arms, with a six pack abs " The results seemed to work out well, and two of the first four images were great! Mid-Journey A.I. Art: I am still pretty undecided about the quality of AI art. It has very cool options and has made some fun placeholders for me to help me envision the characters in the story. a goblin on a beach drinking a pina colada With only a few hours of experience working on the AI art process, the conclusion is that the system really does not do a good job of following prompts. There are times that I need to copy the image, and then put it through the same prompt several times. The more times I seem to run the work through the prompt, the closer the prompt drags the image towards the intent. The process is fun. The results for me are pretty sketchy. A few times I have run up against errors where the machine was telling me that I was asking for things I should not. So that was a little distressing. First Ever Mid Journey Prompt: My first-ever Mid-Journey prompt was " /imagine a goblin on a beach drinking a pina colada ". And thus my first Mid-Journey result made me laugh! So I kept working on refining my prompts, looking at other people's successful prompts, refining results with different filters, and changing how things go together. Character Sheet Fun: Typically, publishing the character sheet like I did here for the All Hallows story is not what I do. But in this case, this one was pretty fun. It was fun because it included using the generated art to fill in some of the imagination gaps so I could describe the story better. I have not decided if I want to go crazy and get all the back catalogs illustrated this way. It is a possibility. Maybe we could create premium work with art included and list that separately at some point in the future.
