Summary:
Chapter 23:
After returning from a lucrative private security job, Samson defuses a tense confrontation with his boss by dramatically slicing a cockroach in half with his sword to demonstrate his deadly skills.
Chapter 24:
Samson, a highly decorated veteran Guardsman, begrudgingly accepts a cushy assignment guarding the Imperial family, knowing he’ll have to deal with the arrogant Guardsman Alexios Komnenos who outranks him despite Samson’s superior combat record.
Chapter 25:
The emperor’s mischievous daughter Persephone is reprimanded for stealing a maid’s uniform and must apologize to the maid, do her family’s laundry for a month as punishment, and is teased by her Guardsmen escorts whom she nicknames “Fly” and “Mosquito.”
