Summary:
Chapter 57:
Jonas, a 16-year-old orphan, is accused of multiple crimes including vandalism, murder, and inducing a heart attack. He’s brought before CEO Phyllip Chroynos, who quickly dismisses the charges as baseless.
The chapter reveals widespread corruption in the orphan creche system and indenture service corporations, with CEO Lowe’s company profiting illegally from these practices.
Chroynos, pressured by his family’s discovery of this injustice, decides to take action. He announces a complete audit of the creche system, terminates payments from indent-corporations, and threatens to charge those involved with slavery. The chapter ends with Chroynos publicly exposing the corruption and dismissing Lowe, setting the stage for significant reforms in the Chroynos Stellar Hegemony.
