Summary:
Chapter 110:
A squad of operatives infiltrates an enemy facility by swimming across a bay, climbing cliffs, and crawling through drainage culverts. They wait in the drains through rain and changing weather until receiving the order to begin their mission.
Chapter 111:
The squad sneaks into the palace courtyard during a storm, blending in with civilians. They move deeper into the facility, engaging in silent combat when necessary. Jonas experiences his first kill, leaving him shaken.
Chapter 112:
Samson observes a complex fleet maneuver from the bridge of a ship. The fleet uses the star’s gravity to slingshot into position, arriving at Tarfona before the light of their arrival reaches the planet. Orbital defense stations are destroyed in the initial assault.
Chapter 113:
The fleet arrives over Tarfona’s north pole and receives new orders. Captain Brokish organizes his cruisers while explaining navigation details to Samson. They discuss the political implications of Samson’s position and the potential future expansion of the Guardsmen.
