Super-Successful Mid-Career Authors!
These are awesome authors I have read, in some cases, for almost THIRTY (30) years! In the case of John Ringo, my dad and I shared dozens of books over the years! Ryan Williams, Jason Anspatch, and John Del Arroz have produced amazing science fiction over the last few years that have caught and captivated my mind intensely! Neven Illiev, Matt Dinniman, and Craig Alanson have put out 10(+), 7, and 18 book series I have read/listened to from start to finish! Chris Fox produced BOTH an awesome ‘How to Write’ series and multiple excellent works of fiction!
Talking to these authors would be a truly rarified experience!
Ryan Williams:
Ryan M. Williams is a versatile and prolific author who has made significant contributions to the science fiction and fantasy genres. Williams writes across various genres, including science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, mystery, horror, and romance.
Jim Edwards:

He is the founder and owner of Guaranteed Response Marketing, specializing in copywriting and direct response marketing. Edwards is also an international best-selling author, with his most popular book being “Copywriting Secrets”.

John Ringo:
Ringo’s bibliography includes several New York Times bestsellers and spans multiple series, such as the Posleen War, Empire of Man, and Troy Rising. His writing is characterized by detailed military tactics, futuristic technology, and often controversial political viewpoints. Ringo’s unique style incorporates dry, black humor and intense action sequences, making his books engaging reads for fans of military science fiction.
Neven Illev:
Neven Iliev is the author of the popular “Everybody Loves Large Chests” series, a unique and humorous take on the LitRPG genre. His work is characterized by a blend of dark humor, action, and fantasy elements. Iliev’s writing style is often described as light, witty, and enjoyable, though it may not be suitable for all readers due to its sometimes controversial content and humor. The series has also been adapted into audiobooks, further expanding its reach.

His writing career spans over two decades, with more than 20 published novels across various series, including the popular Magitech Chronicles, Void Wraith, and Deathless. Craig Alanson:
Craig Alanson is a prolific American science fiction and fantasy author, best known for his highly successful “Expeditionary Force” series. Alanson began his writing career in 2016, quickly transitioning from a full-time job in IT financial reporting to becoming a full-time author within six months of his debut. His breakout success came with “Columbus Day,” the first book in the “Expeditionary Force” series, which gained particular popularity in audiobook format narrated by R.C. Bray.
Why This Is So Cool!
The Value of Cross-Promotion in Today’s Networked Age
Cross-promotion has become an invaluable strategy in our interconnected digital world. It allows authors and artists to leverage each other’s audiences, significantly expanding their reach without substantial financial investment. In today’s crowded marketplace, collaborative marketing efforts can help your work stand out and reach potential readers who might otherwise never discover it.
I discussed the extraordinary value of this arrangement in my video & post about the value of Networked Media!
Boosting Other Artists & Authors
Supporting fellow creators is not just altruistic; it’s a powerful way to build relationships and create mutual benefits:
-
Increased visibility: By promoting others, you expose your work to new audiences.
-
Enhanced credibility: Associating with respected authors can legitimize your own work.
-
Community building: Supporting others fosters a sense of camaraderie among writers.
-
Targeted marketing: Cross-promotion allows you to reach readers already interested in similar themes or genres.
Developing a Strong Writer Community
A vibrant writing community offers numerous advantages:
-
Improved writing skills: Exposure to different styles and techniques enhances your craft.
-
Motivation and inspiration: Seeing others’ progress reignites your passion for writing.
-
Support and encouragement: Fellow writers understand the unique challenges of the craft.
-
Accountability: Community involvement can help maintain a consistent writing routine.
-
Learning opportunities: Collective wisdom provides invaluable insights into writing and publishing.
-
Sense of belonging: Connecting with like-minded individuals combats the isolation often associated with writing.
By actively participating in cross-promotion and nurturing a strong writing community, you’re not just advancing your own career – you’re contributing to a supportive ecosystem that benefits all creators. This collaborative approach aligns perfectly with the networked nature of our digital age, where success often comes from connections and mutual support rather than solitary efforts.

I am terrible at responding on Social because once I start working for the day notifications are turned off so I can focus on work. Email is much easier to work through. But Social is where we announce projects and make general posts.
